Some of the key Comments & Contributions

  • There is the need to increase the development of ICTs within the educational sector. ICT must therefore be compulsory for all students from the grassroots level to the tertiary level.
  • To facilitate the spread of ICTs, the Government must look critically at the duties and levies paid on the importation of computers to reduce the high cost of acquiring a computer and make it affordable to the average Ghanaian.
  • There is the need to address policy issues relating to Human Resource Development to improve the Human Resource capacity of the country.
  • There is the need to provide the necessary facilities to the Universities and Research Institutions to improve and promote Research and Development (R&D) in the country.
  • To safeguard the security of the nation, it is important to use ICTs to facilitate the work of the security agencies to promote investment in a nation’s development.
  • The policy must address Issues relating to Poverty Reduction, and sustainable leadership towards economic development. This must be done in relation to human resource development and how it will
    affect the economy.
  • The policy must consider ways and means of reaching the less educated and school drop-outs in getting them informed about ICTs and how their various skills could be tapped for the benefit of the nation.
  • There is the need to encourage tutors and lecturers to take ICTs very serious to enable them impart their knowledge to children especially at the basic school level. This will in the long run facilitate accelerated growth for the nation.
