The Degree Of Internet Access, Usage And Presence

The Level Of Internet Access
The survey on the level of Internet connectivity shows that: close to 72% of the government ministries and the public sector organizations have access to the Internet. Sectorially, 54% of the government ministries have Internet access compared to 91% of the public sector organizations.The table and figure below indicates these.

The Spread Of Internet Usage Within The Organizations
Of the organizations with Internet access, 45% reported that below 10% of their staff uses Internet to support their work; while about 11% reported that about a quarter of their staff uses the Internet. Only 13% of the organizations have half of their entire staff using the Internet to support their work.
On the whole, although 72% of the organizations have Internet access, the vast majority of them have less than half of their staff using the Internet to support their activities within the organization.The table and figure below indicates these.

Examining the results in terms of the spread of usage of the Internet within each sector, about 50% of the government ministries reported that less than 10% of their staff uses the Internet; the corresponding figure for the public sector organizations is 39%. Only 13% of the government ministries have about a quarter of their staff using the Internet although 54% of these government ministries have access to the Internet. In the case of the public sector organizations, close to 9% have about a quarter of their staff using the Internet. On the whole, the public sector organizations have a reasonably higher percentage of their staff having access to the Internet. For example, about 13% of the public sector organizations have all their staff having access to the internet.
