Some of the key Comments & Contributions

  • There is the need to ensure compatibility with the various agencies; a guideline must be set to ensure this.
  • It is important for the Government to set aside funds to develop the ICT sector and develop the Human Resource required for the sector.
  • There is the need to address the problems facing the telecommunication sector, a policy must be formulated to regulate the activities of these operators, and Quality of Service Standard (QoS) must be addressed.
  • There is the need to develop a common database for all Government agencies to promote information sharing to enhance efficiency of work.
  • Technological changes must be factored into the formulation of the policy; the policy must therefore be generic and easily adaptable.
  • There is the need to make ICTs part and parcel of education from the Basic level to the Tertiary level; the necessary infrastructure must be made available for ICT to de deployed to every corner of the country.
  • The policy should take into account the rapid changes and development in the ICT industry. The Policy should be flexible enough to capture the dynamic nature of the Industry.
