Dialogue with the National Media Commission (NMC)
The National ICT Policy and Plan Development Committee met with the management of the National Media Commission on the 15th October 2002 as part of the National Consultative exercise aimed at developing an ICT-driven socio-economic development policy and plan.

Some Highlights of the Issues Raised
- The creation of a National Data Bank would be necessary to serve the needs of all public agencies in the area of the deployment of ICTs to facilitate their operations and activities.
- There is the need to link up the Commission with other media houses electronically in order to facilitate constant flow of information between them.
- ICT could help to effectively monitor the movement of the media and their output to the society etc, ICT is therefore welcomed to help improve upon the socio-economic growth of the country.
- There is a need to take on board as part of the current policy process issues related to formulating a media policy for Ghana.
- Given the important role of the National Media Commission and its need to link up with the public and the media community, the use of ICTs to facilitate the work of the Commission cannot be overemphasized.
