Highlights, Comments and Questions from Members of the Committee
-
The quantum of people involved in ICTs must be looked at if Ghana is to be able to quickly cross to the other side of the digital divide
-
Need to also look at the informal educational sector in addition to the formal sector when considering policies targeting the development of ICT skills in the schools.
-
It is essential that ICTs should be introduced into the educational system from Basic School level to the Tertiary level
-
The Private Sector as a key stakeholder must be encouraged to provide funds to assist in the development of ICTs within the society and economy
-
Certain Laws must be put in place to remove some of impediments that could hinder the country from developing alongside other nations.
-
As much as there is a need to strategically focus on ICTs as an enabler of other sectors of the economy, it is important that reasonable amount of efforts should be directed at developing the ICT sector and industry.
Next - Meeting with the Ghana Standards Board.
